How do I show installment payments on Google Shopping?
Direct answerSubmit the number of months and the amount due each month. Google’s installment attribute, reviewed November 2, 2026, is optional. A down payment is a third value, except in Latin America, where it is not supported. The offer can target only one country, and it is not eligible for cross-border trade.
The three numbers
Months and amount are required. Down payment is optional and defaults to 0, which Google also describes as no down payment. A text value for six monthly payments of 50 EUR and 200 EUR up front is 6:50 EUR:200 EUR. The header, when you name the sub-attributes, is installment(months:amount:downpayment). If you only send months and amount, the header can be the attribute name alone.
The price attribute is still the full amount if the shopper pays up front. Google’s phone row is a 900 USD checkout price, a title that says 24 monthly payments, and an installment of 24:29.95 USD:200 USD. A tablet row is 300 EUR up front, or 12:30 EUR:0 EUR. The landing page can show other installment options. The one in the feed has to be straightforward to find, and shoppers cannot be required to hold a loyalty card to choose it.
If the monthly amount increases, submit the highest amount. Google’s example is a plan that rises from 20 USD to 40 USD after six months: submit 40 USD. A product that misses the minimum requirements is disapproved. This page does not print a 7-day suspension warning.
Where the attribute is allowed
Shopping ads and free listings can use it for every product category in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. In those countries, omit the down payment or submit 0. Google’s T-shirt rows use a 30 MXN price and 3:10 MXN, with color variants sharing one item group ID.
Outside that list, the page limits the attribute to wireless products: Watches (201), Mobile Phones (267), Laptop Computers (328), Tablet Computers (4745), Mobile Phone Prepaid Cards & SIM Cards (6030), and GPS Tracking Devices (6544). The countries are South Africa; Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand; Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United Kingdom; Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates; and Canada and the United States. Another country, or another category, disapproves the product.
Display ads cannot use the attribute. A service contract billed alongside the handset uses subscription cost. This page says that cost can be added in the wireless countries above except the United States, and a later note says it is not available in the United States or Latin America. If both attributes are present, Google’s best practice is to use the same number of months. If the counts differ and the two amounts have to be combined for space, Google uses the higher count. Google’s combined example is a 221 EUR price, installment 12:18 EUR:5 EUR, and subscription cost month:12:10.00 EUR.
Australia does not have the attribute. A wireless phone or tablet there puts the minimum total cost, including the down payment, the installment payments, and the wireless plan, in the price, and the title says the device is payable in installments. Software does not use installment. The yearly prepaid cost goes in the price.
Vehicle ads, briefly
The same attribute can describe vehicle finance or a lease in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The price attribute is the full cash price. Credit type is finance or lease, and it defaults to finance. APR is required for finance offers in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United States. A value of 2.00 means 2%, and Google says a disclaimer is added because the rate can change. Total amount is required for finance in Italy and Spain. Mileage allowance, in km or miles, applies only to vehicle ads in Germany. A vehicle that is only available for lease, and not for a cash purchase, uses a price of 0. That price-of-zero sentence is for vehicle ads. Other categories still submit the full up-front price. The landing page has to carry the installment details local law requires. Google says the figures in the ad are estimates from a representative example.

Frequently asked questions
Can I submit a down payment in Mexico?
No. Google says down payments are not supported in Latin America and are uncommon there. Omit the down payment or submit 0. The default, when you omit it, is 0. The worked T-shirt row is a 30 MXN price and an installment of 3:10 MXN.
The monthly amount goes from 20 USD to 40 USD. Which figure do I submit?
40 USD. If the installment rises after a period, Google says the amount sub-attribute has to be the highest monthly cost. Submit the exact currency amount, such as 1.01 MXN rather than 1.0012 MXN. The extra digits are a rounding example under best practices.
Does this work in Australia, or for software?
The installment attribute is not available in Australia. For a wireless phone or tablet there, Google says to put the minimum total cost of the device, the installments, and the wireless plan in the price attribute, and to say in the title that it is payable in installments. Software subscriptions do not use installment. Google says they are prepaid, and the yearly prepaid cost goes in the price.
