Why was my Google business logo asset disapproved?
Direct answerGoogle disapproves a business-information asset when the name or logo does not match the verified business, or when that mark is not clearly on the landing page. The business information requirements, reviewed October 15, 2026, say the name must exactly match the domain or the legal name from advertiser verification. The logo is rendered as a circle at 28 by 28 pixels. This is not the business-name field on a responsive ad.
The name on the asset
Business information is the name and logo Google can add to desktop and mobile text ads. Google says the “Advertiser verification” page is now “Account,” under Admin, then Policy, then Account. The name on the asset must exactly match either the domain or the legal name verified there. If it does not, the asset will not be approved.
Google also says the following is not allowed:
- Any business name other than the domain name or the advertiser’s legal name.
- A business name that is not clearly present on the ad’s landing page.
An alternate name is a brand-verification path, and only when you own an active trademark registration for that name. Google names two situations that process supports: the name is a subdomain of the verified domain, or you use different names for different lines of business. The requirements page does not print the form URL. Use the link on the live article.
Safer: the verified legal name “Acme Solutions LLC,” and that string is visible in the footer of the landing page. Risky: “Acme Deals” because it tested better, while verification and the page still say “Acme Solutions LLC.”
The logo
The logo has to match the advertised business and stay consistent with the verified domain or legal name, including in light mode and dark mode. The file is PNG or JPG, at most 5120 KB, with a recommended size of 1200 by 1200 pixels and a minimum of 128 by 128. Google places important content in the center, at about 80 percent of the image, then draws a circle at a final size of 28 by 28 pixels. A dynamic logo can still serve as a square or on a grey background. Google’s recommendation, if you need a circle every time, is to upload a logo that is already a circle.
Named failures:
- The logo does not match or represent the business name or the advertised business.
- More than one logo is uploaded for the same business name or advertised business.
- The logo is not clearly present on the landing page. Google states that twice.
- The image includes nudity, including nudity used for artistic purposes.
- A crop makes the company look inaccurate or confusing.
- The logo is blurry, out of focus, or too small to read.
- The logo is a single block of color, or it has no distinguishable features.
Google’s examples of a mismatch with the website are a color that does not match the logo on the site, and a logo that is morphed compared with the original on the page. An alternate logo, like an alternate name, goes through brand verification when you hold an active trademark. The same two situations apply: a subdomain, or a separate line of business.
A blurry product photo in the ad itself is image quality. A logo asset that Google cannot read at 28 pixels is this requirements page.
What to change
- Open Admin, then Policy, then Account, and copy the verified domain or legal name. Put that exact name on the asset and on the landing page.
- Use one logo that already appears on that page. Keep the mark in the center. Upload a circular file if the square crop is cutting it off.
- Remove extra logos, nudity, and a color-only image.
- If the name you need is a trademarked subdomain or a separate line of business, use the brand-verification link on Google’s page instead of typing a nickname into the asset.
This requirements article does not print a 7-day suspension warning. Do not treat a logo disapproval as the same clock as a business-name-field disapproval.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use a trade name that is not the legal name?
Not on this asset, unless brand verification allows it. Google says the business name must exactly match the domain or the legal name from advertiser verification. An alternate name requires an active trademark registration and the brand-verification process. Google’s examples of that process are a subdomain of the verified domain, and different names for different lines of business.
Why does the logo look cropped in the ad?
Google says it renders the business logo as a circle by default, at a final size of 28 by 28 pixels. Important content should sit in the center and make up 80 percent of the image. A logo that is already a circle is what Google recommends if you need the asset to stay circular, because a dynamic logo can also serve as a square or on a grey background.
Is this the same disapproval as the business-name field?
No. The business-name field on formats such as responsive search ads is a separate requirements page. This page is the business-information asset: the name and logo attached to desktop and mobile text ads. A “Sale” line can fail the field. A logo that is not on the landing page fails this asset.
Match the logo to the page before you upload it
LaunchGuarding can scan the landing page for a business name the ad asset does not show.
