How do I submit a Shopping energy efficiency class?
Direct answerSubmit the product’s class, the most efficient class on its scale, and the least efficient class on its scale. Google’s energy efficiency class attributes, reviewed October 30, 2026, are optional, and local law can still require them. Since April 2025 they are available for products that target Switzerland, Norway, or the United Kingdom.
The three fields
Google says a product that misses the minimum requirements is disapproved. The worked example is a tumble dryer rated A+ on a scale whose least efficient end is D and whose most efficient end is A+++. Submit A+ as the class, D as the minimum, and A+++ as the maximum. The page says some product types may need the class because of local law in Switzerland, Norway, or the United Kingdom. It strongly recommends the three attributes for applicable products. It does not print a list of those product types.
For products targeting the European Union that must show a graphical energy label, Google says to use the certification attribute, which references EPREL. Those certification fields are not on this page.
Do not submit this class together with unit pricing. If both are present, only the energy class is shown. That sentence is on both attribute pages.
This attribute page does not print a 7-day suspension warning.

Frequently asked questions
The scale runs from A+++ down to D, and the product is C. What are the three values?
Google’s example is energy efficiency class C, maximum A+++, and minimum D. Maximum means the most efficient end of the scale. Minimum means the least efficient end. The product’s class has to fall inside that range. G is not allowed on a scale that ends at D.
I sell in France. Do I use this attribute?
Google says that starting April 2025 these energy efficiency class attributes are only available for products that target Switzerland, Norway, or the United Kingdom. For EU countries that require a graphical energy label, the page says to use the certification attribute, which points at EU EPREL data. This article does not copy the certification fields.
Can I also submit a unit price?
No. Submit either the unit pricing measure or the energy efficiency class. If both are present, Google shows only the energy class.
